Bollywood is a name given to India’s Hindi movie industry and it is the world’s largest film making industry. The Indian cinema commenced 100 years ago with the release of the black & white silent film “Raja Harischandra”. In the beginning, the success of any movie was determined by its box office longevity instead of revenue generation. But due to increasing competition from television and piracy, and now the advent of alternative media, longevity of films has decreased drastically and revenue has become the determinant of success.
